Chicago, IL – ALTO, in collaboration with key retail and city partners, hosted Chicago’s first Alliance meeting on October 30, 2024. The event sought to increase awareness and promote strategic partnerships for retail safety, leveraging a unified approach to addressing crime challenges in the city.
The meeting convened representatives and executives from four major Illinois retailers that partner with ALTO: Target, Walgreens, Whole Foods, and REI, with attendance totaling over 45 participants. The agenda addressed critical market challenges and encouraged discussions on best practices through case studies.
Guests engaged with a panel of speakers from the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (CCSAO). Noteworthy speakers included Sgt. Shank and Officer Vincent, who stressed the importance of thorough police reporting, and Detective Varas, who provided insights into the investigation process and best practices within the CPD. Assistant District Attorney Kim Ward from the CCSAO shared insights on repeat offenders and navigating their cases through the court system.
The event also served as a platform for networking and recognizing partners’ contributions. The ALTO team expressed gratitude by awarding certificates of appreciation and challenge coins to partners and guest speakers, acknowledging their dedication to enhancing retail security.
